"I joined Two Left Dance in March of 2005 and have loved every minute of it. I enjoy dancing and teaching
all smooth and rhythm dances, but especially like dancing the Cha Cha. The Cha Cha has a speed that allows dancers to incorporate
a variety of graceful styling while maintaining the spunky, upbeat rhythm of a Latin dance.
"I love dancing in all of it forms. Dance is one of the most beautiful arts. It displays the most pure form of human
expression, beyond what can be written in a story or painted in a picture. Dance can be choreographed or created live, it
can be random or structured, lively or dramatic, smooth or rhythmic-there is no right or wrong!
"As
an instructor, I encourage all my students to learn at their own pace. No matter what dance you are learning or what level
you consider yourself, enjoy the experience. Everyone has a unique way of learning, and that is what makes all of us unique
as dancers. There is no better place to learn then an environment where we can learn from each other and have fun while doing
so! As a beginner, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all there is to learn. The beauty in dancing, especially social
dancing, is that you never stop learning. There is always something fun to learn and discover. As a teacher, I want our students
to enjoy dancing both inside and outside class. Take what you’re learning, break it down, rebuild it, make it your own,
but most of all, have fun!"
Naomi Joy started dancing when she was
a child, and as she grew up she explored a variety of dances from Ballroom and Latin to Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and different
international dances.
She has performed at places such as Burn Brea Dinner Theater and the Kennedy Center Theater Lab, where she was given the privilege
of choreographing her own dance.
